Renouncing Daphne, the great love of his life, plunged Count Stanislav into an abyss from which there seemed to be no possible escape. Sylvia Madsack was born in Hanover. She studied psychology and has worked for a variety of publishers as a journalist and translator from French and English. In 1993 she moved from Munich to Zurich, where she now lives, working as a free-lance writer. In 2008 the first Count Stanislav novel, Melodie der Nacht (Nocturnal Melody) appeared.
