Modern gene research revolutionizes the human image. Darwin and Dawkins are on trial; the most recent gene research challenges Darwinism. At the moment a great upheaval is going on about how in the course of evolution our genes became what they are today. What led to the emergence of life barely four billion years ago? What made human beings become human beings? Until recently over 95% of the human genome did not seem to make sense – but in the very parts which until now were regarded as useless, our genetic make-up conceals its real secret… A new view of the basis of modern gene research: if evolution had followed the maxims of Darwinism – development according to the random principle and natural selection in the ‘war of nature’ – it would have failed in a very short time. Joachim Bauer’s fifth textbook gives new answers to the question of how life has established itself on earth. Organisms, from single cells to humans, could only appear and continue to take shape because the gene system follows three biological principles: cooperation, communication and creativity.
